Handmade bespoke baby carriers made from quality African print which represent heritage, style and most importantly comfort for mother and baby.
Babywearing has been around for generations and as time has moved on new ergonomic products have been created to cater to the tradition. However, growing up, owner and Founder, Keziah Nassiwa remembers and still sees today all over Africa children wrapped up and carried in a long African piece cloth which in East Africa is called Kitenge. Most of the new baby wraps/carriers on the market have not retained the bold and vibrant African print design that displays African culture and babywearing.
Kitenge Creations is driven by passion for culture and heritage. The products are handmade and they hope everyone who gets to experience baby wearing in one of these carriers feels empowered by the tradition. The baby carriers are ethically sourced and produced in a way that empowers and builds communities, this is incredibly important to their brand ethos.
